Strategy Analysts sit inside a company's central strategy or corporate-development team and answer the questions the CEO and the board are betting the next 3-5 years on. The work spans market entry, M&A targeting and diligence, competitor deep-dives, new-business-incubation models, capital-allocation memos, and strategic narrative for board and investor reviews. In India, this role lives in three distinct contexts. Business Development Managers (BDMs) own new-revenue creation — sourcing accounts, opening conversations, qualifying opportunities, negotiating terms, and closing first contracts that didn't exist in the pipeline a quarter ago. Business Process Analysts (BPAs) redesign how organizations work — they map current-state processes in BPMN or swimlane notation, identify waste using Lean (7 mudas: defects, overproduction, waiting, non-utilized talent, transportation, inventory, motion, extra-processing), run root-cause analysis via DMAIC, 5-Why, and fishbone diagrams, and deliver measurable cycle-time and cost reductions.
